BTW, this is in the context of criticizing how an atheist was portrayed in a recent movie. In my own comment, I defend the portrayal.

I don't think Will Smith was an atheist at all in that movie. He was a Christian who went through a bad patch and lost his faith because he was pissed off, then he got it back at the end after he once again realized that God had a "plan"...
which apparently involved mercilessly destroying most of the world's population and making the rest into vicious bloodsucking animals, which seems sorta depraved to me, but hey, mysterious ways, right?
