Quote of the Time Being

Hear the verbal protestations of all men: Nothing so certain as
their religious tenets. Examine their lives: You will scarcely think
that they repose the smallest confidence in them.
-David Hume, Natural History of Religion

Just finished reading that entire work for my philosophy of religion class. The whole thing is worth reading if you have the time.

I have read parts of Natural History of Religion but not all of it, I will have to buckle down and finish it one of these days. Hume's An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding is one of my favorite books of any genre.

Until today I had never heard of this "David Hume." So I decided to do some web research. Look what I found:

This is in keeping with the spirit of the "uncredible," is it not?
